Professional Biography
Chris Wood, MHA
Chris Wood recently transitioned into the role of Division Administrator, Hospital Medicine and Palliative Care within the Department of Medicine at the University of Florida.
Prior to joining the University of Florida, he had been a part of the UF Health Central Florida team for almost 12 years. In his most-recent role at Central Florida, he provided management focus and operational oversight to the UF Physician Regional Programs there. Before that, he led community physician alignment initiatives including the Hospitalist, Cardiology and Oncology Co-Management Companies. He served as Leesburg Hospital’s Project Manager for Medicare’s Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement Model (CJR) and Advanced Bundled Payments for Care Improvement Model (BPCI Advanced) earning substantial shared savings while improving care quality and patient satisfaction. Wood also developed Central Florida’s Preferred Post-Acute Care Network resulting in reduced hospital readmissions and Skilled Nursing Facility Length of Stay. Wood led Central Florida’s Physician-Hospital Organization (Care Delivery Alliance) resulting in increased provider enrollment and managed care plan growth.
In his spare time, he enjoys golf, gym workouts and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
